FOR ARTISTS
Are you an emerging artist? We want to know you!
We believe that the best art is made by valuing the people that make it happen. That we create meaningful impact by making long-lasting connections between Traditional Owners, artists, arts workers and our community; and that a culture of accessibility and respect for diversity makes us stronger.
The courage to discover new ways of doing things invigorates our artmaking and our organisation.
We invite you to be part of PACT. Let’s make things happen… together.
Getting Involved at PACT
Labs & Workshops
PACT’s annual artist development program features workshops, talks, masterclasses and labs to help emerging artists build skills, make networks, and develop professional practice.
The program includes our annual intensive for multi-arts practice PACT Lab: Process, Play, Experiment (PPE) as well other opportunities throughout the year and in collaboration with partner organisations.
Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media to be in the know!
EOIs for 2025’s PACT Lab: PPE are currently open!
Technician Training
PACT’s technician training program offers peer-to-peer workshops in rigging, programming, lighting, sound, WHS, customer service and venue management for emerging techs or those looking to refresh their knowledge.
We encourage emerging artists from all disciplines to get involved – our crew is an awesome community of musicians, filmmakers, performers, and makers of all kinds who also work BOH.
Open technician positions are advertised on our socials.
Residencies
Our residencies give emerging artists valuable studio space, dedicated mentorship, technical and producing support to develop a project.
Offered annually via an open call for Expressions of Interest, the program is for artists exploring experimental and contemporary performance practice, with residents chosen by PACT’s team of Associate Artists.
Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media to be informed of our next callout.
Industry Advice
PACT is staffed by a team of people who bring producing, touring, design, production management, marketing, grant writing, and dramaturgical expertise... and our office door is always open! We encourage artists to make use of our courtyard during office hours for co-working and to drop in anytime for a yarn.
You can also email us at info@pact.net.au to make an appointment to talk to us with specific questions.
PRESENTATION
PACT’s hardworking theatre, gallery, and courtyard present 100 shows each year.
Seeing other people’s work across a breadth of artistic practice is an important way to build your professional knowledge and meet future collaborators. This is why we say, PACT is where artists meet and new discoveries are made!
From full-length commissions, to mixed bills, live music, works in development, micro-festivals, and community events, we are interested in performance across all disciplines.
Mentorship
With 60 years of working with artists under our belt, PACT has an enviable network of alumni artists that return to nurture the next generation as mentors.
Our Associate Artists form a super-talented multi-arts knowledge bank. They work with us to help shape PACT’s program and offer their feedback, skills and practice through mentorship.
Our 2025 Associate Artists are Claudia Chidiac, Martin del Amo, Victoria Hunt and Jazz Money.
Volunteer
Do you want to gain hands-on experience is arts management or event delivery?
We host volunteers and interns through partnerships with sector service orgs (e.g. Accessible Arts, Diversity Arts), universities, and through direct contact with us.
Email us at info@pact.net.au with a copy of your cv and info about yourself and we’ll get back to you.
Auspicing
Are you applying for a grant and need help with the financial and legal management?
PACT can support you through our auspicing services – we make payments on your behalf, handle super, provide insurance, and help with financial reporting for a small fee.
Please send auspicing enquiries to info@pact.net.au and we will get back to you asap.
Venue Hire
With support from the City of Sydney, we are able to offer highly subsidised space hire for independent artists and groups.
