Claudia Chidiac
Claudia is a theatre maker and creative producer. Since 2001 she has worked with diverse communities, arts and community agencies. From 2010 - 2014 she was the Creative Producer of Performance and Music and Theatre Producer/Curator at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC). She created and produced the award winning Way Out West Festival for Children (2011 - 2013 and 2017 - 2020). In 2013 she produced and directed Tough Beauty by Finegan Kruckemeyer, for CPAC, as well as producing the community engagement program.
From 2005 – 2010 she was the Artistic Director and Executive Officer of PYT Fairfield, where she was responsible for directing, and producing the company’s artistic program and developing training opportunities for emerging artists in Western Sydney.
In 2008 Claudia was one of the Australian delegates in the inaugral Next Generation Symposium as part of the 16th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival; In 2006, she was awarded the Australia Council for the Arts Community Cultural Development Young Leaders Award and in 2004 the Arts NSW Western Sydney Artist Fellowship. In 2002 she was one of ten young Australians selected to attend an international summer school for young change makers in Wales.
She has assessed art funding grants for Create NSW and Australia Council for the Arts.
Claudia’s most recent work was producing The Village by The Kids, an outdoor audio adventure walk throughout Erskineville, with children from St Mary’s Primary.
