The final PACT Salon for 2018 is curated by Bonnie Cowan and Alex Stevenson

PACT Salon: artifice x interface invites artist and audience to explore, discover and interrogate the artifice of performance, and to consider the various forms of interaction and interface within artmaking. We investigate the multiplicity of the term ‘artifice’; considering whether a rehearsed performance, a refined sound, an edited image or a manipulated video can ever be genuine or authentic; while creating space to appreciate the pure ingenuity of the craft. We examine the interface between collaborators, both human and technological, and how these interactions alter the art making process.

artifice x interface offers a framework to consider these notions through performance art, live music and sound, light, video installation and visual art, with artists such as Alex Robson, Bridie Tanner, Buzz Kull, Camilla Turnbull, Carla Zimbler (ASTERISM), DarkCinema (Nema), David Finnigan, Ella Byrne, Eloise McCrea-Steele, Emily Crocker, Flower Boy 卓颖贤, Henry Holder, Jessica Murphy, Kristone Capistrano, Maddie Chippendale, Robbie Armfield, Sabella D'Souza, Tom Matthews and Twisted Element.
