Loc Nguyen is a Sydney-based emerging artist working across video, sound, installation and performance. He is currently studying his Bachelor of Media Arts (Honours) with UNSW Art & Design. He was recently a participant of the 2018 Stephen Cummins Queer Development Program with Performance Space, and has his first solo exhibition coming up at Firstdraft, Woolloomooloo.
Nguyen’s practice explores the relationship between the human body and machines, and uses the cyborg as an investigation into how racial and queer identity have become shaped through digital technologies and cyberspaces. By transforming the organic forms of the human into something that is grotesque and unfamiliar, Nguyen dissolves the limitations of the physical body.
