SSHIFTT

“Shape-shifting” is a tradition that exists in most native cultures. It’s the metamorphosis of a person into an animal or other form. In many traditional cultures, it’s still practiced today…” – Denise Linn

SSHIFFT is exploring the practice of shapeshifting in a cultural and western context. How in the western world shapeshifting is part of a sci-fi reality and a distant future whilst in a cultural world it is our current reality, it is our past present and future.

Founded by Thomas E.S. Kelly, Karul Projects is a performing arts company that shares Indigenous stories and their importance in future Australia.  'Karul' is a Yugambeh word, which means 'Everything'.  As the name suggests, Karul Projects will do everything to strengthen and empower the cultural knowledge of this land so that all future generations can embrace Aboriginal Australia's rich heritage.  Karul Projects is creating reconciliation through art.  Learning about the past, so that we can better understand the present, so together we can move forward into the future.
