After completing an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts at Meadowbank TAFE in 1998, Shannon went to COFA and graduated with 1st class Honours in 2001.
During this period, she became involved with artist run initiatives around Chippendale in Sydney, and developed a strong DIY sensibility that has become ingrained in every aspect of her practice. In 2005, she began a scholarship M.F.A , and was awarded a 3-month-residency in Paris which opened up new ideas about language and text. This began annual trips overseas to collaborate with new networks growing all over the world. In 2007, Shannon had a solo exhibition at Titanik Gallery in Turku, Finland; in 2009 she was a visiting artist in Indonesia with the Gang collective where she exhibited and ran workshops for the 'Festival Mata Air'. In 2014, she exhibited on Governers Island in New York with collage artists and also helped bringing a collage group to Sydney for a group exhibition.
Her most recent solo was at 107 in Redfern in 2017.
Shannon continues to collaborate locally and internationally. This year she will be collaborating on projects in Italy, Ireland, and Melbourne.
Shannon is a participating artist in our second PACT Salon of the year: APACTALYPTIC, curated by Cloé Fournier. Tickets are on sale now!
